Good Eats CSA Vermont Offerings
What is Good Eats?
  • Good Eats is a program in which you buy a "share" of Pete's Greens produce for a 17,
18, or 19 week period. The CSA goes year-round, divided into three share periods
    throughout the year.
  • For the Vegetable Only & Vegetable/Localvore Shares, we deliver your food once a
week to one of several sites throughout Central Vermont or you pickup at our farm.
Meat shares are delivered once a month.

How do I join?
  • The Summer 2010 share begins June 16th and runs through October 13th (18 weeks)
  • The Fall 2010 Share will begin Oct 20th and will run for 17 or 18 weeks (TBD)
  • Please continue reading through the FAQ's then print and fill out the membership form
at the bottom of this page. Forms must be filled out and sent to the farm with payment.
  • Our shares always fill fast. If we are already full, or if you are interested in an upcoming
share, please fill out the contact form on our homepage to be put on our
contact list for upcoming share periods.

Can I join after the season has started?
  • Maybe. You can join Good Eats anytime assuming we have shares available. Email Amy
for the details of how to join at a prorated price.
  • Don’t forget that we are a year-round CSA, so if the current share period fills up you
may be able to sign up for the next, especially if we have your current email address on
    our contact list.

What's in the shares?
  • We specialize in diverse and unusual varieties of vegetables and greens. Your bag will
contain the same speciality produce that we sell to the top chefs of New England. Our
hope is to both challenge and delight you with the selections. We also raise free range
    chickens.
  • For a specific description and example shares, please see our e, Summer Share, Fall
    Share and Meat Share pages.

Do I save money with the CSA?
  • Yes. You can save as much as 20% over retail by getting your vegetables directly from
the farm. We estimate that the value of a weekly Vegetable/Localvore share saves you
on average 18% a week. We are proud to report that the prices we charge our members
for vegetables in the share have not increased in over a year and in some cases have
gone down. Any increases in the price of the share reflect localvore product inflation, as
well as increased value of vegetables going into the bags.

Do you offer payment plans?
  • Although we prefer that you pay for your entire share at the time that you sign up,  we
do offer a payment option for full period shares that include vegetables. All post-dated
checks for the duration of the share must be mailed with the enrollment form.

Can I split a share?
  • Yes. Please fill out the sign-up form indicating that it will be shared. Co-members are
responsible for splitting up the share themselves at pick-up.
  • If you are looking for someone to split a share with, please check out Members Seeking
page. You can email Amy@PetesGreens.com to have your information posted on the
    page.

What if I can’t pick up my share?
  • If you know that you will be out of town, we suggest you arrange to have a family
member or friend pick your box up and enjoy the week's bounty.
  • If you can let us know by the Sunday before pick-up, we can arrange to have your share
donated to the Hardwick Food Pantry.

Do you give refunds or credits?
  • We do not refund the price of the share.
  • If you are disappointed in the quality of our produce, or we are at fault for a missed
delivery, we want you to be compensated. Our goal is complete satisfaction.

What pick up spots do you deliver to?
Please see our Pick-up Sites page.
