Join our Spring CSA! New season starts February 13!

The Spring Share finds us taking advantage of last fall’s bountiful harvest and looking forward to the promise of a new season. We'll start the share with harvests of fresh salad greens and shoots. We are well stocked with beets, carrots, potatoes, rutabagas, cabbage, onions, and other treats from the root cellar. We take time during each summer harvest to preserve the summer goodness, and freeze crops like spinach, squash puree, sweet red peppers, tomatoes, roasted poblano peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, and more tomatoes. These veggies supplement some weeks of the share. With the storage crops mix, the frozen and preserved summer crops, and the weekly salad blend, this share will keep your household well fed.*

In March/early-April, we heat things up with the first of our greenhouse goods in each weeks' share. We utilize season-extension technologies to grow longer into the winter and start growing before summer. Delicacies such as mesclun, baby pac choi and Asian greens, kale, and chard burst onto the scene followed by bunched beets, salad turnips, Napa cabbage, scallions, and mini onions. May and early June bring head lettuce, cucumbers, baby fennel, radishes and much more!

 *Note:  The veggies in our frozen items are indeed our own Pete's Greens organic veggies, but we have decided that the process of certifying our minimally processed veggies as certified organic places too great a burden on our organization. Thus, starting in the 2016/2017 season our frozen veggies are not certified organic (though they still contain our organic veggies).


This period's offerings include a variety of items for your pantry, such as apples from Champlain Orchards; yogurt from Butterworks Farm; an array of award-winning Northeast Kingdom sheep, cow and goat cheeses; farm fresh eggs (usually every third week); whole wheat and unbleached white flour from various organic farms; breads from Patchwork, Slowfire, and Red Hen Bakeries; pizza dough from our kitchen; dried cranberries from the Champlain valley; organic and heirloom beans from the NEK; Quebec grown grains including oats and barley; tamari and miso from several Quebec farms; local raw honey; kimchi from central VT; pesto, salsa, and other items from Pete's Kitchen; and much more. Many of these items are certified organic and all are locally produced by excellent farms and producers.

Weekly Newsletter - Each week, all share members receive an email with a list of the items in the share to help decide what to cook up this week. We also provide great weekly recipes using the items in the share and tips about the veggies themselves.  The newsletter includes background on the local farmers whose cheeses or grains, beans, flour or meats might be part of a share. And of course we include news from the farm. Every Friday, you'll get a "Sneak Peek" at what to expect in your share the following week.

Changes to Your Delivery or Travel Plans? – If you will be away and need to make changes to your share delivery, let us know the week before. You can skip the week's delivery and receive a credit on your account to use toward your next share. You can also elect to have your share donated to the Food Pantry. Or, if you know you will be closer to another of our pick-up sites one week, with advance notice you can request that your share be available at that site rather than the one you sign up for.

The Localvore, Everyday, and Fancy Shares can be split into four equal payments, with checks deposited the first of every month.

The Pantry and Meat Shares can be split into two equal payments, with checks deposited the first of the month.

Visit our online store here for bulk sales of vegetables, grains, and meats. Place your order before 12 pm every Monday, and on Wednesday (or Thursday), your order will be delivered to one of our CSA pickup sites! Items updated depending on seasonal availability. If you don't see something you are looking for, contact us and we'll check on availability. The minimum amount per order is $20.
